What Year Is It? Part II
31% of Austrians favorably reflect on Nazis. Must be a busy day for the Jerusalem Post. 31% is about the largest plurality the Nazis ever got in a German election. Compare that to the roughly 80% support in Austria for the Anschluss (the 1938 annexation). Something else to consider: Germany has undergone 60 years of de-Nazification (which is why I'm not upset to see a pacifist Germany that wouldn't support the Iraq war---it's not as if they were actually building Saddam's nuclear reactors); Austria has undergone no de-Nazification at all, except for a lot of buck-passing to Germany.
