The Copernican Turn In Pseudo-Philosophy

Apropos of Jeremy's post on what's taking place in Lebanon, Eric Muller takes a look at how the right's leading bloggers are dealing with the facts on the ground.

Their epistemic move is right out of G.E. Moore (if Moore had suffered extensive brain damage):

P1) They know that the Lebanese street is anti-Syrian.

P2) [According to CNN] there is extensive pro-Syrian sentiment in Lebanon.

C1) P1 or P2 but not both.

C2) Therefore P1.

C3) Therefore CNN's reporters should be fired.

To paraphrase Bertolt Brecht: Maybe Powerline should dissolve the Lebanese people and elect a new one.
