Frankly I'm not impressed or gladdened by the fact that these people want John Kerry to win. According to an article in the Süddeutsche Zeitung (the paper of record in Munich), the fact that Iran has sentenced a 16-year old girl to death by hanging, rather than stoning* represents progress in "europäisch-iranischen Menschenrechtsdialog" (European-Iranian human-rights dialogue). So, apparently, does the fact that Iran has raised the age at which a girl may be forced by her family to marry from 9 to 10 years.


*Her crime? Pre-marital sex.
