The Lighter Side Of Torture
I don't think I'm breaking news when I say that the reaction of movement conservatives to the continuing practice of prisoner torture in the name of the Terror War has been absolutely appalling. There have been exceptions, like Andrew Sullivan and David Brooks, but as Matt Welch chronicles, the typical reaction has been a cynical version of Elizabeth Kübler-Ross's stages of grief. Elsewhere, Publius issues a J'Accuse to his fellow conservatives.
