I Guess I Wuz Wrong
...I guess Norman Finkelstein was right: sure, there may be anti-Semites, but the so-called phenomenon of global anti-Semitism is little more than a conspiracy of Zionist Jews to secure money, influence, and political cover for their crimes against the Palestianians.
Or not.

Obviously such talk is repugnant, and American critics of Israeli policy should not embrace such comments.
But should Israel exist? Abolishing a Jewish state now would result in too much bloodshed and acrimony to do anything but make things in the Middle East even more unstable. Yet one can say this while at the same time affirming that Israel should never have been created in the first place. It should have been self-evident, even after the Holocaust, that a Jewish homeland--largely comprised of Jewish settlers who arrived after 1917--at the expense of Arabs in the Middle East would have disastrous consequences.
Incidentally, I wish people like David Frum and the rest of the Cornerites would be honest and admit that they support Israeli policy not because of "democracy" or the poisonous philosophy of Israel's Islamic fundamentalist enemies, but rather because the Jews are God's "Chosen People." Or something.
