Gerrymandering Is A-OK
So says Robert Scheer at the Huffington Post:
Because of "safe" or less contested races, legislators at least have the potential to pay attention to their constituents rather than to those who finance the hotly contested races.And there you have it. Party apparatchiks receiving lifetime appointments to nominally elective office is good for democracy (Scheer should go out for coffee with anonymous).
Incidentally, I love the "'safe' or less contested races" bit. The term, sir, is rotten borough.
