Douchebag Of Liberty
Discounting the MoDo interview, the attention-getter on the Daily Show last night was John Stewart's opening monologue which culminated in calling Robert Novak a "douchebag of liberty" (I'm not exactly sure what that means, but it sounds fairly non-controversial and unpolitical to me). It appeared to be the first time Stewart had ever opened his show with an editorial. Also, the line itself isn't really all that funny, but you could see the emotion behind it; one of Stewart's most sincere and raw moments on television. I'm not going to say anything about his substance, since this is Apolitical Day, but from my own news-blogging "meta-" perspective, it was nice to see Stewart expressing his own point of view.
