The YDN editorial board endorses Rebecca Livengood for Alderman. Look, the identity of the person sitting in that chair is not of enormous consequence, and of far less than, let us say, breaking up Tammany-on-the-Qunnipiack.

Or put it another way, as the YDN unintentionally does:

While [Livengood] was criticized in this space last March for a similar lack of knowledge on key issues and an often excessive idealism, she has now clearly demonstrated an understanding of City Hall's practical realities.

Translation: she's nicely along on that pilgrim's path from activist to machine politician. But let's please not confuse that metamorphosis with something to do with "responsible development," which is precisely what governing on behalf of the SEIU must not refer to.
