Changing Direction

Once I get my column on the van Gogh murder into print, I want to change my editorial pace a bit, and deal with politics only in an ancillary way for a while. Chalk it up to post-election burnout (and fear and trembling---I'm extremely pessimistic over the short-term). Some recent conversations have convinced me that I ought to write a column defending the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports and the general use of drugs to improve one's quality of life.
